The Paddock Project

The Paddock Project is an organic farm, cafe and community project on Argyle Street in Mullumbimby, built around chemical-free produce grown in the beds on site. For dog owners it solves a problem most cafes cannot: instead of a tight footpath table, you get a garden, room to settle, and a slow morning where the dog has space too.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome through the gardens and at the outdoor seating, and there is plenty of green room to pick a spot away from the busiest tables. Keep your dog on a lead while moving through the garden beds and the busier areas near the shop. Dog treats are sometimes on hand, but that is not a guarantee, so bring your own water bowl because the site does not run a dedicated dog station.

The vibe

The menu runs straight from the garden, and reviewers keep coming back to the croissants, the salads and the general garden-to-plate feel. As much community hub as cafe, the pace is unhurried and the crowd mixes garden volunteers, locals doing their veggie run and visitors who found it on the way through town. Expect a line on weekend mornings and a calmer room on weekdays.

Getting there and parking

The site sits on Argyle Street an easy walk from central Mullumbimby, with street parking available along the same stretch. Doors open at 7am most days, with Wednesday running later until 6pm and weekend service wrapping up early afternoon.

Close by with the dogs

Once your dog has had its fill of garden calm, the Mullumbimby Off Leash Dog Park gives it a proper run, and The Other Joint around town is another dog friendly coffee stop. Out of town on Coolamon Scenic Drive, Tayzies sits among the nursery foliage with space for dogs and kids alike.
