BURROW Cafe - Bridge Street

BURROW Cafe is the neighbourhood breakfast spot on Bridge Street in Mount Lofty, on Toowoomba's eastern side, and dogs are welcome in its outdoor seating area. It has built a strong following for its coffee and brunch, and the outdoor tables make it an easy stop around a walk on the nearby range escarpment.

The dog setup

Dogs settle with you in the outdoor seating area, on lead beside the table. As is standard, indoor dining stays people-only, so pick a clear-weather morning if the dog is coming. There is no advertised water station, so pack a bowl and ask staff when you arrive. The street side is quiet residential Mount Lofty, which keeps things relaxed for dogs that dislike busy strips.

The vibe and the menu

The room is cozy and trendy without being formal, and the kitchen covers a lot of ground: breakfast plates including a tofu scramble, gluten free options, house-made Portuguese tarts and a proper matcha alongside the coffee. It runs Tuesday to Friday from 7am to 2pm and weekends from 7am to 1pm, and it is closed Mondays, so plan the dog walk around that.

Getting there and parking

Find it at 117A Bridge Street, Mount Lofty, a few minutes from the Toowoomba CBD up the range. Street parking along Bridge Street and the surrounding residential blocks is easy, which makes arriving with the dog in the car straightforward.

Close by with the dogs

Pair a visit with a walk on the Firetail Walk or a climb of the Table Top track, both on the range close by. For another dog-friendly coffee on this side of the city, The Coffee Chest in Rangeville is an option.
