95 Mary Street

95 Mary Street is a French-leaning destination cafe on a quiet, leafy street in East Toowoomba, listed on the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers pet-friendly guide for its accommodating outdoor tables. It works two ways with a dog: a shaded street-side brunch, or a hamper pick-up on the way to a park picnic.

The dog setup

Dogs are permitted in the outdoor front area, where shaded spots sit under the Mary Street trees; the indoor dining room is for people. Staff are generally welcoming, but bring your own bowl for water. It opens 8am to 3pm and closes Tuesdays, so check the day before you plan; weekdays bring the calm tables while weekends fill with the breakfast crowd and the street parking on Mary Street gets tight at peak times.

The food

The kitchen leans seasonal and chef-designed, with eggs benedict, bacon and eggs and good salad options getting the regular nods, plus gluten-free choices across the menu and a lemon meringue worth saving room for. High teas run by pre-booking, and the grazing hampers and chef-prepared takeaway meals are the smarter move with a dog in tow: order ahead, then spread out on a park rug instead of a cafe table.

The hamper plan

Queens Park is a short drive away, and the Queens Park Dog Off Leash Area sits near the Godsall Street entry, with water bowls and waste bags on site; the rest of the park and its gardens are on-lead. If you would rather stay cafe-side, Urth Cafe & Co on Hume Street does homemade bark-cuterie boxes for dogs, and Cafe Valetta has garden seating in a historic home nearby.
