Sage & Butler is a small, well-liked cafe on Margaret Street in East Toowoomba, popular with locals grabbing coffee on the morning dog walk. It is a coffee-and-a-treat stop rather than a long sit-down, and the dog side is simple: outdoor tables and a water bowl out front.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, with water bowls put out front. In cooler weather the staff sometimes have blankets on hand. It suits a quick coffee with the dog parked beside you rather than a leisurely indoor meal.

Good to know. The coffee is well regarded locally, and the kitchen is known for bubble and squeak, eggs benedict and its donuts. It is a handy caffeine stop to build a park walk around.

Getting there and parking. It is on Margaret Street with street parking out front and a carpark at the rear. Side streets pick up the overflow when it is busy, which can include Toowoomba Grammar sports days nearby.

Nearby with the dogs. Queens Park and its off-leash area are close by for a walk after coffee, and the leafy East Toowoomba streets make for an easy stroll either side.

Best as a grab-and-go before a Queens Park loop; go on a weekday morning if you want it quiet.
