East Creek Trail

East Creek Trail follows a green corridor of willows, ponds and lawns through East Toowoomba, on paved paths that run a long way without a break. Dogs are welcome on a lead at all times on the trail.

Leads and off-lead areas

Toowoomba Regional Council requires dogs leashed along the corridor. For a run, Queens Park has a designated unfenced off-leash area, though dogs stay leashed in the Botanic Gardens sections.

The walk

Concrete and asphalt paths wind beside the creek, past small ponds, bridges and benches. The route links Queens Park with parkland further south, so you can stop after a short stroll or keep going for several kilometres.

Mature trees shade much of it, with open gaps between. Bins sit at park entries and picnic spots, and there are bubblers near some parks, but carry water on longer walks.

Getting started

Street parking and small bays are available at cross streets along the way, including near Stirling Street and near Queens Park.

Make a day of it

Stop at Sage & Butler or Cafe Valetta in East Toowoomba afterwards.

The smooth, continuous surface makes it a good choice for older dogs and for walking with a pram.
