The Tradesman Cafe

The Tradesman is an industrial-chic brunch cafe at 1/260 Wickham Road in the heart of Moorabbin's industrial pocket, and dogs are welcome on the terrace at the front entrance. It is a relaxed local spot, so an early coffee with the dog at your feet is an easy call before the tradie rush hits.

The dog setup

Dogs sit with you on the entrance terrace, a street-level timber-and-concrete space dressed with potted greenery, so there are no steps or gates to manage with a lead in hand. Staff will usually bring out a water bowl if you ask, and regulars' dogs get friendly pats, but pack your own bowl to be safe. Wickham Road has passing traffic at peak times, so keep your dog tucked in close to the table.

Worth knowing

The kitchen leans hearty: the well-liked Tradesman brekky, red velvet pancakes, smashed avocado, wagyu burgers and slow-cooked lamb specials, all paired with Code Black coffee. Serving sizes are generous, so order conservatively if a walk is planned afterwards. Hours run 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday, from 6:30am Saturday and 7am Sunday, so it is a breakfast-and-lunch venue. The terrace fills with families on weekend mornings.

Getting there and parking

There is a small dedicated parking area directly in front of the cafe plus free off-street options nearby, which makes arriving with a dog straightforward compared to the main shopping strips.

Close by with the dogs

Both the Moorabbin Reserve and G R Bricker Reserve dog off-leash areas are a short drive away for a run either side of brunch, and Linton Street Cafe is the local alternative if the terrace is full.
