Dark Horse on the Brit

Dark Horse on the Brit is the neighbourhood hub of Britannia Mall in Mitcham, at shop 22 in the pedestrian strip east of Ringwood-bound traffic, and it welcomes dogs at its outdoor tables. It is a popular waypoint for local dog walkers, sitting within easy reach of the suburb's off-leash parks and the Mullum Mullum Creek corridor.

This is a cosy, busy local that runs on all-day breakfast and solid specialty coffee. The smashed avo, scrambled eggs and the hash brown that regulars order on the side carry the breakfast menu, with fruit toast for the lighter start. Find it in Britannia Mall just off Whitehorse Road in the Mitcham shopping precinct, with parking in the surrounding lots a short walk away and Mitcham station nearby. Doors open at 6:30am on weekdays and service runs to mid afternoon, which lines up with an early walk beforehand.
