The Nines

The Nines is a busy all-day breakfast and lunch cafe in the Sunshine Homemaker Centre on Maroochydore Road, and it is one of the more openly dog-welcoming cafes on this stretch of the Sunshine Coast. The draw for dog owners is practical: ground-level parking right beside outdoor tables where a dog is genuinely catered for, not just tolerated.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the designated outdoor dining area, reached straight from the centre car park, and the cafe has built a reputation for looking after canine guests, so a water bowl is usually no trouble. Bring your own as backup anyway. The setting is a paved retail forecourt rather than a leafy courtyard, so aim for a shaded table on hot days. Indoors is for people.

The menu

The kitchen is known for a large, creative all-day breakfast: the Benny trilogy, the Chicken BAE sando and dirty chai french toast headline, backed by generous lunches and indulgent extras like loaded shakes. There is no separate dog menu, the hospitality is of the water-bowl-and-a-pat variety. Hours are 7am to 3pm seven days, with the kitchen closing around 2:30pm, and weekend mornings get genuinely busy, so arrive before 9am if your dog prefers a calmer forecourt.

Getting there and parking

Find it at Shop 17A, Sunshine Homemaker Centre, Maroochydore Road. Parking is the easy part: a large free ground-level car park sits right at the door, so you can walk from the car to an outdoor table in under a minute.

Make a day of it

The Homemaker Centre is retail, not parkland, so plan the walk separately: the riverfront off-lead stretch at the Maroochydore leash free park on Bradman Avenue is a few minutes away, and MURRAYS on sixth is the other local cafe that runs a dedicated dog menu if you are working through the list.
