Harvest on First is a specialty-coffee and bakery cafe at the Kon Tiki building on Plaza Parade, beside the new Maroochydore city centre. It is very dog-friendly, with alfresco seating reached straight off the footpath, ideal for a coffee with your dog while the new CBD ticks along around you.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor terrace seating, with direct street and footpath access so you can arrive and settle without passing through the indoor cafe. Staff are accommodating and water is usually offered; bring your own bowl as backup.

Good to know. The coffee is the draw, poured from quality roasters, alongside well-regarded artisan bread and a solid breakfast and lunch menu of cafe classics. It is a busy, modern spot built for the surrounding offices and residents.

Getting there. The address is 55 Plaza Parade, in the Kon Tiki Business Centre near the Maroochydore Road intersection. Free off-street parking and street parking are available, though both fill during the morning peak. Ground-level access makes arriving with a dog easy.

Nearby with the dogs. The MET at the Maroochydore city centre is close and hosts dog-friendly evening markets on the first and third Saturday of the month, Cotton Tree Park is a short drive for open space, and the Maroochy River walk towards Cotton Tree is great for a longer stroll.

When to go. Beat the weekday morning rush for an easy terrace table and parking, and time a visit around the MET markets if you want a dog-friendly evening out.
