This is a renovated two-bedroom, two-bathroom ground-floor holiday rental in the heart of Cotton Tree, three blocks from both Maroochydore Beach and the Maroochy River. The draw for dog owners is the combination of a secure fenced yard, a dedicated outdoor dog shower, and a flat walk to the river off-leash areas, all from a well-equipped base.

The pet policy. Good dogs are welcome, but only with prior host approval and a pet deposit, so confirm before you book rather than turning up with a dog unannounced. Indoors, pets must stay off the furniture and beds to protect the high-thread-count linen, and you are expected to clean up after your dog immediately, especially in the outdoor areas. Standard check-in is 4pm and check-out 10am, and as a residential property it has strict quiet hours and a no-parties rule.

The place. It is a modern, fully equipped unit with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a full kitchen, laundry, smart TV and unlimited internet. The outdoor space is the highlight for dogs: a secure fenced yard or patio, a gas barbecue and outdoor dining, plus an outdoor surfboard and dog shower for rinsing off sand. Beach and river gear is included, with paddleboards, beach towels, chairs, a cooler and an umbrella.

Location and nearby. It sits in the Cotton Tree precinct near First Avenue and the Esplanade, roughly 10 to 15 minutes from Sunshine Coast Airport, within walking distance of Sunshine Plaza, Cotton Tree Pool and bus stops. The flat terrain makes daily beach and river walks easy, and Cotton Tree's cafes, bakeries and Sunday markets all sit close by with dog-friendly outdoor seating.

The off-leash beach hours are tight here: dogs are off-leash on the beach north of the Pincushion Island access point only between 5pm and 8am, on-leash at all other times. Plan your beach runs around that window and check current council signage, as Sunshine Coast dog rules changed from 3 July 2026.

Before you book. Get the dog approved with the host in advance, budget for the pet deposit, and pack a mat or crate so your dog has somewhere to settle off the furniture. Best suited to a well-mannered dog and owners who want a beach-and-river base with a fenced yard and a rinse-off shower at the door.
