Albany Art Cafe and Workshops is a community creative hub inside Juniper's Beryl Grant Community Centre at 15 Townsend Street, Lockyer. It pairs a small cafe with a working art studio: resin pouring, paint-and-sip, jewellery making and kids craft sessions run on a monthly program, and local art works hang on the walls and are for sale. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating areas but not inside the community centre building or the workshop spaces, so plan your visit around a table outside. There is no dedicated dog menu and treats are not kept on hand, and water availability depends on the day, so carry a portable bowl. It trades weekdays only, 8:30am to 3pm, and closes on weekends, which makes it a weekday dog-walk stop rather than a Saturday brunch one.
Close by with the dogs
Clifton Street Park, bounded by Admiral, Clifton and Humphreys Streets, is a designated City of Albany dog exercise area a short walk away, with the usual exclusion around the playground equipment. If you want something bigger, Centennial Park Dog Exercise Area on Sanford Road has open space and fenced sections a few minutes' drive north. The Surfing Bean at Middleton Beach and The Greenhouse at Centennial Park are both easy to pair with a morning walk.
