Langwarrin General Store on Northgateway is half cafe, half produce store, and the street-front tables under striped umbrellas are a genuine dog setup rather than an afterthought. It has become the regular stop for local dog walkers heading to or from the nearby reserves.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor street-front tables on a lead, but not inside the store itself. Staff put out water bowls, often bring a treat or a sausage over the counter, and puppuccinos appear on the menu.

The kitchen turns out coffee, chicken pesto toasties, pastries and pies, and the shelves carry fresh produce and gourmet grocery lines, so you can stock up on the way out. Matcha and other drinks cover the non-coffee drinkers in the group.

Lloyd Park Dog Off Leash Area is about two minutes away for an off-lead run after breakfast, and Melaleuca Reserve gives you another fenced option nearby.
