Lloyd Park Dog Off Leash Area

Lloyd Park is a 20 hectare sporting and recreation reserve on Pindara Boulevard in Langwarrin, and its dog offer is a designated off-leash zone tucked into the north-east corner while the rest of the park stays on-leash around the ovals, pavilion and courts. The zone runs along the Pindara Boulevard side, which makes it one of the easier free-roam spots in Langwarrin to reach without a long walk in.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies only in the north-east section. Everywhere else, including near the western ovals, the pavilion, the tennis and netball courts and along the Cranbourne-Frankston Road frontage, dogs stay on-lead. Frankston City Council's free-roam rules carry over: effective voice or hand control, a lead carried with you, leash up within 10 metres of any organised sport, barbecue or picnic area, and greyhounds remain on-lead throughout. The zone itself is open grass with scattered trees, unfenced, and relatively light on amenities; water taps and toilets sit over by the western oval precinct, so bring a bowl if you are heading straight to the corner.

The vibe

This is a working sports reserve first and a dog park second, so the rhythm follows the fixtures. Weekend mornings and the after-school rush from about 3:30pm are busiest, especially when local sport is running on the ovals. Weekday mid-morning is the quiet window and gives dogs the most open room. Two playgrounds elsewhere in the park keep families around on weekends, and the lower ground can turn boggy after heavy rain.

Pepsi: The open grass in the north-east corner is the spot for a proper game of fetch, it stays less crowded than the ground near the amenities.

Getting there and parking

Enter via Pindara Boulevard, just off Cranbourne-Frankston Road, where parking along the boulevard is straightforward. Buses run along Cranbourne-Frankston Road but it is a short walk from the nearest stop to the off-leash corner. The park is open around the clock and the Langwarrin shopping strip is minutes away.
