Ground N Sound

Ground N Sound is a cafe and bar with a music obsession on Musgrave Avenue in Labrador, its walls lined with memorabilia and its calendar built around open mic nights and live sets. The space is quirky rather than polished, with comfy chairs and memorabilia that regulars treat as part of the furniture. Hours are split: 6:30am to 1:30pm Wednesday and Thursday, 6:30am to 1:30pm Saturday, 6:30am to 4:30pm Sunday, and Friday running right through to 10pm when the music nights are on. Monday and Tuesday it is closed.

Worth knowing

The menu covers brunch staples, with acai bowls a recurring order alongside the coffee. Friday's late session is the distinguishing feature: the room turns over to open mic and live music, and the outdoor tables keep serving while the interior fills. For dog owners, that makes Friday evening a rare option, though the volume means noise-sensitive dogs are better placed on the morning sessions. Weekend mornings are relaxed and the dog traffic is regular enough that staff expect it.
