Nuckleheads

Nuckleheads is a small laneway cafe in Kirrawee's industrial pocket, styled like an old-school American garage and doubling as a hangout for the local motorcycle crowd. It pours coffee and runs a tight sandwich and jaffle menu, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the laneway seating area out front, not inside, and the space is compact, so a short lead and a settled dog are part of the deal. Staff are friendly toward four-legged visitors, but the cafe does not put out water bowls as standard, so bring your own portable bowl. If you are riding in, there is room nearby to park sensibly without blocking the complex.

The vibe

The menu is deliberately short: coffee, sandwiches and jaffles, with the cheese and truffle jaffle the one everyone names. The aesthetic leans chrome, timber and two-wheeled, and the regulars rate the informal, nothing-fussy atmosphere as much as the food. It works best as a quick stop rather than a long brunch; the operation is small and weekend mid-mornings can get tight for outdoor tables.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits at 61 Waratah Street in Kirrawee's commercial precinct, with free street parking usually available on the surrounding roads. Kirrawee Railway Station is roughly a 500 to 700 metre walk. Being an independent laneway spot, hours can shift, so check their social feed before making a special trip.

Close by with the dogs
