Robusta Cafe is the coffee kiosk inside the HomeCo Gregory Hills Town Centre, a straightforward local stop for Italian-style coffee and all-day breakfast in Sydney's south-west fringe. The dog setup

The alfresco tables sit on a paved, shaded strip right beside the main entrance, so you can settle a leashed dog without squeezing past the counter. Inside stays pet-free, which is standard practice under the NSW Food Authority's rules for food premises, so keep your dog at the outdoor seating. Staff are generally relaxed about dogs but there is no official dog menu, and water bowls are offered on request rather than set out automatically, so bring your own bowl as a backup.

Worth knowing

The menu covers the classics: breakfast plates, gourmet toasties, a smoked turkey croissant and vegan and vegetarian options, with lunch items like pizzas and small plates alongside. The Mediterranean board is a regular's pick. It is a quick-turnover kind of place inside a busy shopping precinct, better suited to a coffee and a bite between errands than a long, lazy brunch.

Hours run Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 3pm, Saturday from 7am to 2:30pm and Sunday from 7am to 2pm. The kiosk is wheelchair accessible with accessible seating, high chairs for kids, and public restrooms are available elsewhere in the centre.

Getting there and parking

Find it at Kiosk 2, 33 Village Circuit, Gregory Hills, inside the HomeCo Town Centre. Parking is free and plentiful, with both open-air and undercover spots close to the entrance, so there is no need to leave your dog far away on a hot day.

While you're out there

For a proper run before coffee, the Gregory Hills Fenced Dog Park is close by and fully enclosed.
