Gregory Hills Fenced Dog Park

The Gregory Hills Fenced Dog Park sits inside Champagnat Park and is fully enclosed, which means dogs can run off-leash the moment you are through the gate, any hour, any day. It is a big communal yard, around 6,700 square metres of grass, and it is the area's main dedicated fenced facility under Camden Council.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash inside the fenced boundary only, and go back on the lead in the rest of Champagnat Park. Note the layout is one large shared space rather than separate big and small dog enclosures, so if your dog is nervous around larger breeds, time your visit for the quiet windows. Council rules expect a competent handler aged 16 or over, supervision and effective voice or hand control at all times, socialised dogs only, and aggressive dogs removed immediately.

On the ground there are concrete tunnel obstacles for dogs that like a challenge, water on site, waste bags provided, bench seating for owners and a few shaded spots. Check the gate latches before you let go of the lead, and carry spare bags; a park this popular sees a steady rotation of dogs through the day.

Max: fenced does not mean unsupervised. The size is the draw here, but it also means dogs can be 50 metres away before you notice the mood change.

The vibe

Saturday mornings and Monday and Thursday evenings draw the biggest crowds, with friendly regulars and plenty of space to go around. Sunday and Friday nights are quieter, better odds if your dog needs room rather than a meet and greet.

Getting there and parking

The park is off Gregory Hills Drive in Sydney's south-west, with street parking right by the entrance. Nearby bus routes serve the wider Campbelltown and Oran Park area but do not drop at the gate, so it is a car trip for most visitors.

Close by with the dogs

The Burrell Road Fenced Dog Park at Spring Farm and the Champions Park Fenced Dog Park at Oran Park are the nearby alternatives. For coffee after, woof Grounds and Extract Espresso are both in the suburb with outdoor seating.
