Unley Social

Unley Social at 70 King William Road, Goodwood, is a neighbourhood cafe where dogs are simply part of the day: custom dog bowls by the footpath tables, dog treats behind the counter and puppuccinos on request. It trades from 6am on the specialty house-roasted coffee, and the run club crowd and local regulars give it a busy, social morning rhythm.

The dog setup

Dogs settle at the footpath tables along King William Road, which is the busy side of the strip, so a dog comfortable with foot traffic fits right in. Staff usually sort a water bowl without being asked and often have treats ready, and the venue's own socials lean into the dog side of the house. Keep your dog leashed and tucked in close to the table during the morning peak, because the footpath narrows when the coffee line builds.

The vibe and the menu

The coffee is specialty grade and roasted for the house, and the kitchen keeps it quick: toasties with the spicy tuna melt a regular favourite, rotating cakes and pastries, and the almond croissant cookies that keep turning up on the venue's socials. Hours are 6am to 2pm weekdays and 7am to 2pm weekends, so it is a breakfast-and-lunch venue that closes mid-afternoon.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along King William Road and the side streets with time limits worth checking, and buses run up and down the road if you would rather leave the car. Goodwood station is a short walk west.

Close by with the dogs

Unley Oval is the standout nearby: the City of Unley allows dogs off-leash there at all times, on-lead only when organised sport or events are on, so an oval run before coffee is a genuine option. For more coffee stops on the same strip, Yugen Art & Coffee and Hey George Community are both dog-friendly and within a few hundred metres, and Trouble and Strife rounds out the Goodwood list.
