What visitors mention
Trouble and Strife is a busy little cafe on the Goodwood Road strip, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. The draw for dog owners is the rear garden: a quieter, shadier spot to sit than the footpath out front.
The dog setup. Dogs join you outdoors, either at the front footpath tables along Goodwood Road or in the rear garden. The garden is the better bet with a dog: more shade, less foot traffic, and a calmer feel away from the street. Staff are used to dogs and generally happy to bring a water bowl. Indoor seating is for people only, as with most cafes serving food.
Good to know. The kitchen leans on good coffee, sourdough, and cakes, with solid vegetarian and vegan options. It gets popular on weekend mornings, so the garden fills up.
Getting there. Right on Goodwood Road. Free street parking runs along the strip and the side streets like Florence Street, though it turns over quickly and fills on weekends. Check the time-limit signs before you leave the car.
Nearby with the dogs. Goodwood Oval is about a kilometre away for a leg-stretch before or after, and the Goodwood Road strip itself is an easy dog-friendly wander with other outdoor-seating cafes along it.
Best timed for a weekday morning or mid-afternoon if you want the garden to yourself. Good for social dogs that settle at your feet while you eat.
