French Rose Patisserie

French Rose Patisserie is a boutique sweets shop at Shop 5, 204 Birdwood Road in the Georges Hall village, famous across Sydney's south-west for its Townies: rich fudgy brownie baked inside a crisp tart shell. Dogs are welcome at the footpath tables out front, which makes it a reward stop rather than a brunch destination.

The dog setup

Seating for dogs is on the footpath frontage rather than a dedicated courtyard, so think quick coffee and pastry with a leashed dog settled at your feet on a working shopping strip. There is no confirmed water bowl on site, so bring your own, and note the tables are limited and fill on weekends.

Worth knowing

The Townie rotation is the drawcard, with the ganache-topped Dot Townie, Pistachio Katafi and Wagon Wheel versions going viral on social feeds, alongside loaded Bueno and Ferrero brownie trays, Dubai pistachio tarts, cannoli and custom celebration cakes. It is not only sugar: coffee, milkshakes and a small savoury lunch menu with a weekday special keep it functioning as a proper cafe. Hours run from 7am on weekdays and 8am on weekends, closing latest on Saturdays.

Getting there and parking

The shop sits in the Birdwood Road village with a free on-site car park and ample street parking around it, an easy stop if you are passing through Georges Hall.

Close by with the dogs
