Kapara Cafe

Kapara Cafe is an Israeli street-food cafe on Adelaide Street, set in the courtyard behind the DADAA building. The sheltered courtyard, where dogs are welcome, is the draw, and it does a vibrant Middle Eastern brunch and good coffee.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard, which is the main dog-friendly area, with a little footpath seating on Adelaide Street as well. Dogs are not taken inside the building. Water bowls are often available, though carrying your own is still smart. Note the cafe is closed on Thursdays, so check before you go.

Good to know. It is known for green vegan falafel, organic Colombian coffee and a strong vegetarian and vegan menu, in a relaxed courtyard tucked off the street.

Getting there. Find it at 92 Adelaide Street. Metered street parking is available on Adelaide Street and the surrounding blocks, and it is a short walk from Fremantle station.

Nearby with the dogs. The Esplanade Reserve is a short walk for an on-lead run, the Fremantle Markets are close (dogs to the outdoor sections), and South Beach off-leash area is a short drive for a swim.

When to go. A weekday late morning is the calmest in the courtyard, remembering it is shut on Thursdays. Weekend brunch is busier, so come early for a courtyard table with room for the lead.
