Spoon And Bean Cafe

Spoon And Bean Cafe is a small neighbourhood coffee spot on Saffron Street in Elanora, open from early morning for the pre-work and pre-walk crowd. It is a relaxed stop with a footpath-and-courtyard style outdoor setup that welcomes dogs, and it is popular with local morning walkers.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables out front. It is casual, so keep your dog leashed and settled by your chair while foot traffic passes. A water bowl is generally out for thirsty dogs, but bring your own if you want to be sure. The entry, parking and seating are wheelchair-accessible, and there is a restroom on site.

The vibe and the menu

Locals rate the coffee and the breakfast menu: the mushroom toastie has a following, alongside bacon and egg burritos, build-your-own bagels and Bircher muesli. The cafe also stocks local gifts and art, and occasional live music sessions liven the room up beyond a quiet coffee run. It trades Monday to Friday from 5:30am to 11am and Saturday 6am to 11am, and is closed Sundays, so early is the word.

Getting there and parking

It sits in a small commercial strip on Saffron Street, an easy detour off the Gold Coast Highway. Street parking is available directly out front and in a small lot, though it fills during the breakfast rush.

Close by with the dogs

The Tallebudgera Island Dog Off Leash Area is the standout, with grass, shade, water access and agility gear, and it is right in Elanora. For a swim, the Tallebudgera Offleash Dog Beach is a few minutes north, and the Melaleuca Dog Park covers the Palm Beach side.
