Parlour Coffee

Parlour Coffee sits on Tallebudgera Creek Road in West Burleigh, set back from the Burleigh beach crowds, and it has a genuinely welcoming setup for dogs: a covered outdoor area, water bowls and the rare bonus of onsite parking. For a Gold Coast cafe, that combination is unusually easy to work with.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area and under the pergola, kept on lead and settled at your table. Water bowls are available, and the cafe has been known to hand out its own puppy bibs, which tells you how rehearsed the routine is. This is one of the more comfortable dog venues on the southern Gold Coast, and it suits everything from a post-beach pause to a lazy brunch.

The menu

Coffee quality is the reputation here, backed by a seasonal brunch menu: the Croissant Benny and coconut chia pudding hold regular spots, with chilli scramble, avo toast and a bacon and egg roll covering the savoury side, and carrot cake for the cabinet. Service is quick even through the weekend rush.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is just off the main road in West Burleigh, and onsite parking is available, which is a genuine advantage in this part of the coast. Access from the car park to the outdoor area is level and straightforward with a dog.

Make a day of it

Tallebudgera Creek and its dog-friendly stretches are a short drive for a walk or a swim, and the quiet West Burleigh streets suit a gentle lead stroll. Note that dogs are restricted on the walking tracks inside Burleigh Head National Park, so check signage before you plan a loop there. If you want sand first, the Tallebudgera off-leash dog beach at Palm Beach is close by. It opens early, 6am on weekdays and Saturdays, 6am Sundays with a 1pm close. Mornings are the move: beat the brunch queue and pair it with the creek.
