Caffeination Burleigh

Caffeination Burleigh is a hole-in-the-wall coffee spot at Unit 14/76 Township Drive in the West Burleigh industrial pocket, well away from the beachfront. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor frontage, and the venue's other claim to fame is the periodic Cars and Caffeination meets that pack the forecourt with coffee and car enthusiasts on select Saturday mornings.

The dog setup

Dogs sit at the outdoor and entrance frontage areas, which suits the quick-stop format: order at the counter, take a spot out front with the dog at your feet. Bring your own water bowl, because this is a grab-and-go kind of place rather than a sit-down room with table service. The regulars are friendly and the community feel is the draw.

Max: weekday early is the play here, doors open at 6am and the tradie rush moves through fast. If a Cars and Caffeination meet is on a Saturday, expect a crowd, loud engines and lots of dogs on the concrete.

The vibe

The coffee is Byron Bay roasted, served with Norco milk and non-dairy alternatives, backed by a casual menu of bacon and egg muffins, toasties, burgers, banana bread and local cookies. Reviewers single out the owner and staff by name more than anything else. It is a working-week venue, open 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday and otherwise closed except for event openings.

Getting there and parking

The industrial location makes parking simple, with plenty of room on Township Drive and the surrounding streets, a rare ease for this stretch of the Gold Coast. It is a short drive to Burleigh Heads beach and the national park for a walk afterwards.
