Nook Espresso(Burleigh Heads)

Nook Espresso is a casual espresso bar on the covered outdoor patio at Stockland Burleigh, on West Burleigh Road. It is an errands coffee rather than a destination cafe, and the dog rules follow the shopping centre's: outside is fine, inside is not.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on the breezy covered patio, which is easy to manage with a dog on a lead, and both the entrance and the seating are step-free. Treats are not a given, so bring your own water bowl and settle your dog at the table before you order.

If you need to duck into the mall itself, the centre runs Puppy Parking, beach-hut style kennels with puppy grass and water near the Commonwealth Bank entrance. Dogs otherwise stay outside the enclosed centre, apart from assistance animals.

Max: Puppy Parking is the back-up plan, not the default. If your dog has never been crated in a crowd, just keep them at the patio table with you.

The vibe

Locals rate the coffee among Burleigh's better cups and the service is quick, which suits a mid-errand stop. Expect shoppers and tradies rather than a long-lunch crowd.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits at 149 West Burleigh Road, accessed off West Burleigh Road, with a free on-site car park plus free street parking nearby. The centre location makes it a natural stop mid-shop or on the drive home from the beach.

Close by with the dogs

For a sit-down session where dogs get proper welcome, Choubidou Cafe has a pet-friendly courtyard and Tarte Bakery keeps dogs at its sidewalk tables.
