Third Base is a laid-back local cafe just off the Gold Coast Highway in Palm Beach, the kind of busy neighbourhood spot where the coffee is good and the dog gets a nod from the staff.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating and small courtyard. You order at the counter and staff bring the food out, so you can stay put with your dog. Water is often provided, and the team is happy to accommodate pets. The outdoor area is compact, so keep your dog on lead and tucked in beside you.

Nearby with the dogs. The Palm Beach off-leash dog beach is close by on the highway for a 24-hour run, and the beachfront footpath is right there for a post-coffee walk.
