The Cornerstone - Elanora

The Cornerstone is a neighbourhood cafe at Shop 2/47-49 Elanora Road in the Elanora Heights village strip on Sydney's Northern Beaches, trading weekdays 7am to 4pm, Saturdays 8am to 2pm, closed Sundays. It runs on scratch-made seasonal cooking and old-school hospitality, and it is a highly dog-friendly stop: the patio and outdoor areas welcome pups, with water bowls put out for visiting dogs.

The dog setup

Dogs settle at the outdoor tables out the front, the venue's main pet-friendly zone; indoors stays for humans. Bring a lead you are happy to loop around a chair leg while you order at the counter, and note the strip is compact, so a dog that can tuck in close makes weekend mornings easier.

Worth knowing

The all-day breakfast list runs from a loaded breakfast burrito with double bacon and hashbrown to Pain Perdu French toast, lunch kicks in from 11am with seasonal dishes like beef cheek bourguignon, and the almond croissants and specialty coffee carry the morning regulars. Everything is made in-house, so expect the menu to shift with the seasons.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits in the small village centre on Elanora Road, with street parking along the strip and on the surrounding residential streets; it is a five-minute drive from either Narrabeen or the Ingleside side of the ridge.

Close by with the dogs

Progress Park at North Narrabeen is a 24-hour off-leash area along Mullet Creek, a few minutes down the hill, and the Narrabeen Lagoon Loop is the longer on-lead option. For another local coffee, Julian's Cafe is in the same suburb.
