Casa Mia Cafe

Casa Mia Cafe is a grab-and-go coffee stop inside the Homebase complex on Hammond Avenue, East Wagga Wagga, right by Bunnings. It opens early, the coffee has a strong local following, and the exterior tables welcome well behaved dogs, which makes it a natural first stop before a river walk.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables on the shopfront side. There is no dedicated dog area, but the seating is tidy and the staff are generally accommodating with four legged visitors. Bring your own portable water bowl, as a water station for dogs is not a fixed feature on site.

The menu

Coffee is the headline, backed by fresh smoothies such as the Banana Brava. Food is quick and honest: premium sandwiches, wraps including popular breakfast wraps, and a weekly toastie special. House made cakes, slices and muffins fill the cabinet. Reviewers repeatedly single out the kind staff and the value for money, which is half the reason locals keep coming back.

The address is Shop 2A, Homebase, 7/23 Hammond Avenue, East Wagga Wagga. Free parking across the Homebase complex makes it an easy stop before or after shopping. Hours are 6am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 2:30pm Saturday, closed Sundays, so plan weekend passes around the Saturday only trade.

Make a day of it

The Murrumbidgee River walking paths are a short drive away, and dogs are welcome on-lead along the river walkways under Wagga Wagga City Council rules. For off-lead time, Wilks Park Off Leash Area sits on the eastern side of the park in North Wagga Wagga, and Narrung Street Fenced Dog Park offers a fully fenced option.
