Astor Bar & Grill

The Astor Bar & Grill is the restaurant of the Astor Inn at 104 Edward Street in the Wagga Wagga CBD, built around a charcoal grill known as the Mallee Grill. It is a sit-down steak and pub-meals room rather than a big open beer garden, so it is one to check ahead on if a dog is part of your plans.

Dogs at the Astor

No formal dog policy is published on the venue's own pages, and the dining spaces are primarily indoors. If you want your dog along, call before you go and ask whether any outdoor seating is available on the day; policies at motel bar-grills can shift with bookings and functions. A settled dog on a short lead is the ask wherever you end up seated, and bring your own water bowl just in case.

Worth knowing

The kitchen's draw is charcoal-grilled steak with custom butters and gravies, alongside pub classics, schnitzels, share boards and pizzas, with happy hour running Monday to Saturday from 4pm. Grill hours run dinner-only early in the week, adding a lunch service on Friday and Saturday, and the kitchen is closed Sundays, so time a visit with that in mind.

Getting there and parking

The Astor sits on Edward Street in the heart of the CBD. Street parking runs along Edward and the surrounding blocks, and it is an easy walk from the main retail streets.

Close by with the dogs
