Little Lunch on Forsyth

Little Lunch on Forsyth is a bakery-led cafe on Forsyth Street in the Wagga Wagga CBD, with a local following built on bread, focaccia and cakes made in-house. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath tables, which makes it an easy stop on a CBD loop with the dog.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor, footpath-side tables rather than inside the cafe. Staff have a friendly reputation with the local dog-walking crowd, and water bowls are generally available, though it is worth asking when you arrive. Footpath seating means passers-by and other dogs, so keep the lead short if yours is reactive.

Worth knowing

The kitchen bakes in house, and the pastry case is the draw: doughnuts, cheesecake and pavlova get repeat mentions alongside sandwiches, big breakfasts and well-rated coffee. Hours run 8am to 2pm Monday, 8am to 3pm Tuesday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturday, with Sundays closed.

Pepsi: come mid-morning before the lunch rush and grab a doughnut while the case is still full. Saturdays wrap up at 1pm, so do not leave it late.

Getting there

The cafe is at Unit 6, 180 Forsyth Street. On-street parking runs along Forsyth and gets tight over lunch, with Tarcutta Street side parking as the usual backup. The CBD location means it is walkable from most of central Wagga.

Follow coffee with an off-lead run at the Narrung Street Fenced Dog Park or the Chaston Pet Hub. The Early Bird Wagga on Fitzmaurice Street is the other standout dog-friendly cafe in town, with covered outdoor seating and water bowls at the table.
