White Rabbit Drummoyne

White Rabbit is an all-day breakfast and lunch cafe at 134 Lyons Road in the middle of Drummoyne, open 7am to 3pm every day of the week. The shopfront pavement tables are the draw for dog owners: the cafe is explicitly dog-friendly outdoors, and the Lyons Road footpath makes a solid perching spot for a dog while a brunch plays out above.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and footpath tables lining the front of the cafe, and staff often put water bowls out, though it is worth carrying your own on a hot day. Dogs stay outside; the indoor room is not for them. Weekend mornings get busy, so a weekday visit is the calmest way to score a table with a dog in the mix.

The vibe

The menu is all-day brunch done properly: shakshuka, ricotta pancakes, eggs benedict and acai bowls, with strong specialty coffee behind the bar and a genuinely good run of vegetarian and vegan plates. Walk-ins only, so arrive with a plan B if the pavement is full.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on Lyons Road in central Drummoyne, with free one and two hour street parking on the surrounding streets, so read the signs. Several buses run along Lyons Road, and Victoria Road is a short walk away for more services.

While you're out there

Brett Park off Sisters Crescent is the local off-leash pick, with the City of Canada Bay allowing dogs off lead there before 9am and after 5pm, while the Queen Victoria Reserve off-leash dog park at the end of Queen Victoria Street adds water views and beach access on the same time rules. The Bay Run loops past both for a longer on-lead leg stretch. If you are cafe-hopping instead, Jenn and the barista is another Drummoyne option.
