Jenn and the barista

Jenn and the barista is the family-run, fully gluten-free cafe at 7 Church Street in Drummoyne, and it welcomes dogs at the outdoor tables out the front. Those tables are undercover, so a bit of drizzle or harsh sun does not end the visit, which matters when your walk route runs along the water nearby.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the undercover outdoor seating along Church Street, on lead and settled beside the table. The cover makes it a genuine all-weather option, rare among footpath setups, and the strip is compact enough that a quiet dog settles easily. Bring water for your dog rather than counting on a bowl, and take a takeaway if the front tables are full on a weekend morning. Hours run from early morning on weekdays to mid-afternoon, with shorter service on Sundays.

The gluten-free kitchen

Everything here is gluten-free, which is the reason coeliacs drive across the bridge for it, but the menu stands on its own: chilli eggs, a proper brekkie roll, banh mi with crackling pork, poke bowls, tiramisu pancakes and a chilli crab pasta that regulars chase. It does not eat like a compromise menu, and the staff are warm with kids and dogs alike.

Getting there and parking

Church Street sits just off Victoria Road in central Drummoyne, a short walk from the Bay Run foreshore path and the ferry wharf side of the peninsula. Street parking lines the surrounding residential blocks, busier on weekend mornings when the running crowds come through.

The Bay Run is the obvious lap before coffee, the Queen Victoria Reserve off-leash dog park covers the off-lead run, and Bearded Brothers Espresso is another dog-friendly coffee stop in Drummoyne.
