The basics. Zia Lorena's is a family-run Italian cafe in Tunstall Square, Doncaster East, serving panini and barista coffee with a warm, neighbourhood feel. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath seating, so it works as a relaxed coffee-and-panini stop with a dog in tow.

The dog setup. Dogs join you at the outdoor footpath tables, with direct street-level access from the Tunstall Square precinct. Staff are friendly toward dogs. A bowl is not guaranteed, so bring your own water, especially in warmer months.

Good to know. Fresh, toasted panini (the Cotelletta is a favourite), barista-made coffee and homemade Italian desserts. Open Monday to Friday roughly 8am to 2.30pm and weekends 8am to 2pm.

Getting there. In Tunstall Square, which has ample free public parking around the shops. Easily reached via Doncaster Road and the surrounding streets.

Nearby with the dogs. Dogs must be on-lead through the shopping precinct itself. Local Doncaster East reserves are a short drive for a proper walk before or after coffee.
