Cafe Chaat & Chill

Cafe Chaat & Chill runs out of a small shopfront on Hansford Road in Coombabah, a northern Gold Coast suburb, and lives up to its tagline of come for the chaat, stay for the chill. It is a homely, genuinely friendly cafe where dogs are welcomed at the outdoor tables.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, leashed and settled beside your table. Staff are notably warm towards four-legged visitors, and the cafe sits in a precinct that includes a pet grooming spot, so dogs are part of the regular traffic rather than a novelty.

Hours are 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday, finishing a touch earlier at 2:30pm on weekends, so it covers breakfast and lunch only.

The vibe

The kitchen leans into all-day brunch: chilli scrambled eggs, crispy corn fritters, avo smash, buttermilk pancakes, and banh mi and toasties for the lunch crowd, all on Merlo coffee. Regulars single out the staff for making everyone, dogs included, feel like locals.

Pepsi: the chilli eggs are the move. Grab the outside table near the shopfront so your dog can watch the precinct, and do not skip the daily pastry tray.

The address is Shop 15/21 Hansford Road, Coombabah QLD 4216, just off the Oxley Drive corridor. Parking is easy at the small centre, and the suburb sits between the M1 and the Coombabah Lakelands conservation area.
