Cafe @ Hansford Flowers is the rare cafe that comes with a garden built in: it sits inside a working florist and nursery on Hansford Road in Coombabah, so breakfast happens surrounded by plants for sale. It opens at 6:30am on weekdays and 6:30am on weekends, closing at 2pm during the week and 1pm on weekends, which keeps it firmly a morning-and-lunch venue. Reviewers consistently call out the friendly staff and the atmosphere, and the nursery setting is a big part of that.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, garden-themed seating area, which is spacious and partially covered, so there is usually a shaded table even in the middle of the day. Water bowls are often put out for visiting dogs, though bringing your own collapsible bowl is the reliable backup on busy mornings. The one thing to manage is the setting itself: this is a working nursery as well as a cafe, so keep your dog on a lead and close to the table, especially around the plant displays and foot traffic through the shop.

Close by with the dogs

For off-leash time, the Bayview Park fenced dog park at Hollywell is the standout nearby: a large flat enclosure with a separate area for small or elderly dogs, agility equipment and water stations. It is a short drive from the cafe. The Coombabah Lakelands conservation area sits close by too, but dogs are excluded from parts of the reserve to protect the wildlife, so check council signage before you set out on those tracks.
