Konoha

Konoha is a Japanese fusion cafe on Veterans Parade at Collaroy Plateau, doing something unusual for the Northern Beaches: bacon and egg rolls at 6am alongside teriyaki chicken bento boxes and a daily sushi roll line. It opens 6am weekdays and 6:30am Saturdays, closing Sundays, and dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating out the front, a policy the cafe has promoted on its own socials since opening.

The dog setup

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating spaces; indoors is off limits under standard food-safety rules. The front-of-shop arrangement suits the cafe's quick-turnover trade, and being on a neighbourhood parade rather than a main road keeps the footpath side calm. No dedicated dog menu is advertised, so carry a water bowl; the shop sits in a small local centre, so tie the lead to your own chair rather than shop fittings.

Worth knowing

The menu splits into two halves. Mornings run to cafe staples such as bacon and double egg rolls, B.L.T. and chilli pork rolls, with specialty coffee and a matcha latte line in plain, strawberry, mango and yuzu. From lunch the Japanese side takes over: teriyaki chicken and chicken katsu bento boxes, fresh sushi rolls and house signatures like the Angry Collaroy Roll. That makes it a rare dog-friendly option where you can do a proper Japanese lunch outdoors rather than standard brunch fare.

Getting there and parking

Konoha is at Shop 4A/65 Veterans Parade, Collaroy Plateau, in the local shopping strip on the plateau above Collaroy Beach. Street parking lines Veterans Parade and the surrounding residential streets, and the suburb's cul-de-sac layout keeps traffic light for a relaxed on-lead walk in. The plateau side streets connect directly to local reserve walks.

Close by with the dogs

The Griffith Park dog park down at Collaroy gives an off-leash session near the beach, and the South Narrabeen trail from Wheeler Heights suits a bushier leg-stretch. For a second coffee in the same suburb, Drip Coffee Traders is around the corner on the plateau.
