Urban Espresso Lounge

Urban Espresso Lounge runs the Jetty Strip end of Harbour Drive in Coffs Harbour, opening at 5am every single day and closing at 2pm. That pre-dawn start is not decorative: the cafe catches the surf and fishing crowd before they hit the water, and by 5:30am the outdoor tables already have occupants. It has grown into one of the strip's dependable breakfast institutions, and the menu covers both ends of the morning appetite.

The front tables face the street and the side tables take a bit of the sun, and either works for a settled dog; the indoor dining room is off limits, so a wet morning means waiting it out or calling in a takeaway. Staff get repeated, specific praise for being welcoming to dogs and their owners, which matters more than usual on a strip where footpath traffic is constant.

Worth knowing

The menu skews generous and partly plant-forward: corn fritters, acai bowls, buddha bowl options, eggs benedict and a steak sandwich for the other camp, with vegan choices flagged clearly. Everything shuts at 2pm, so the Jetty Strip lunch crowd moves elsewhere after that. Parking along Harbour Drive is street-side and busiest mid-morning on weekends; arriving early solves both parking and the best tables.
