Twenty46 is a relaxed, locally run breakfast and lunch cafe on the Jetty Strip on Harbour Drive, open seven days. It is explicitly pet and child friendly, and the outdoor dining area out front is where dogs settle in, making it the easy coffee stop in the heart of the Jetty dining precinct.

The dog setup

Dogs sit with you at the outdoor tables on the footpath side, which are open and roomy enough to settle a dog beside you without squeezing past chairs. The cafe is known to put out water bowls. It is a high-traffic, social spot, so it suits a well-socialised dog; a reactive dog will do better at an off-peak table. Doors open 6am weekdays and 7am weekends, with the kitchen wrapping up around 2pm.

The vibe

The kitchen covers the classics well: bacon and egg rolls, corn fritters, avo toast, waffles and steak sandwiches, with kids menu options and generous portions. Coffee is specialty-grade, alongside fresh juices and smoothies. It is a family-run room with a local regular base rather than a tourist churn, and turnover is quick mid-morning.

Getting there and parking

Find it on Harbour Drive in the Jetty Strip, a couple of minutes from the marina end of town. Street parking runs along Harbour Drive and the side streets, with more space behind the strip. From the city centre it is a short drive or a flat ride along the bike paths toward the jetty.

Make a day of it

The Jetty end of town stacks up well for dogs: the off-leash sand at the North Wall Beach Off-Leash Area runs from Coffs Creek mouth to the breakwall, though dogs are banned on Muttonbird Island itself. The Thompsons Road Reserve Fenced Dog Park is the fenced option, and Hub Cafe Jetty plus Creekside Cafe are nearby dog-friendly coffee stops.
