MaMaGOTO

MaMaGOTO is a casual Japanese and Asian-fusion eatery in City Square on Harbour Drive, central Coffs Harbour, doing bento boxes, sushi rolls, katsu and karaage with kombucha and matcha on the drinks list. It is a lunch-hour spot rather than a dinner destination, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, which makes it an easy midweek stop with the dog on the lead.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the alfresco seating around City Square, close to the kiosk and well away from the interior counter. Because the tables sit on a public square, keep your dog on a short lead beside the chair rather than loose. Water bowls are not guaranteed, so carry your own, and note access is flat and easy from the square.

Pepsi: a quick lunch stop, not a linger. Order a bento, keep your dog tucked in on the shaded side of the table, and you will be in and out inside the hour.

The vibe

Fast, friendly and casual, with the food consistently the standout: fresh sushi rolls, generous bentos and quick service at the counter. Trading hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 2:30pm, Saturday mornings from 8am to 11am, and closed public holidays, so plan it as a daytime stop.

Getting there and parking

It is at Kiosk A, City Square, 50 to 64 Harbour Drive, in the heart of the Coffs Harbour CBD. Paid and time-limited parking stations and street spaces surround the square, and it is an easy walk from anywhere in the town centre.

Pair it with

Take the lead onwards to the Coffs Creek Walk and Cycleway for a shaded loop after lunch, or head for the water at the North Wall Beach Off-Leash Area. The Jetty Beach House at the Jetty strip is another outdoor-table pick if you are making a day of the coast.
