The Marina Cafe

The Marina Cafe sits inside The Quays Marina at Church Point, on a deck that is genuinely over the water. Breakfast and lunch run from 8am, with dinner service on Friday and Saturday nights, and the tables look straight down rows of moored boats towards Pittwater. For dog owners it is one of the more atmospheric breakfasts on the northern beaches, provided your dog is happy to settle near water traffic.

The cafe welcomes dogs on the outdoor deck and surrounding seating, and they need to stay leashed and outside the glass walled indoor dining room. That is the venue's own setup rather than a guess from reviews, so you can plan on the deck with confidence. The deck gets full sun through the middle of the day, so morning tables are the comfortable pick in summer, and staff are used to dog traffic given how popular the spot is with local owners.

The menu leans proper rather than snacky: duck salad, crab omelette, corn fritters and salt and pepper squid are the regulars' picks. Access is via Pittwater Road with parking around the marina precinct, and it is a short drive to the boat ramp and foreshore spots if you want to walk it off afterwards. Between the deck, the water and the boats, it is an easy place to stretch one coffee into most of a morning.
