The Little Ox on New Street is one of Brighton's more genuinely dog-set-up cafes: a large front forecourt with around eight tables out front, water bowls for visiting dogs, and a dog menu. If you are walking the suburban streets with a dog, this is an easy stop.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the big front outdoor area, not indoors. Water bowls are provided and there is a dog-friendly menu, so treats are sorted. Keep your dog on-leash and under control in the seating.

Good to know. Well-regarded coffee and a substantial brunch menu, a local favourite for a mid-walk break. Open daily from early morning to mid-afternoon.

Getting there. 452 New Street, Brighton. Street parking on New Street and the surrounding side streets. It is an easy on-foot stop if you are already walking the neighbourhood.

Nearby with the dogs. Brighton Beach is a short drive or walk for a run on the sand, the Church Street strip is close for more dog-friendly strolling, and several suburban parks sit nearby.
