Long Shot Coffee Stop sits inside the Bondoola Golf Driving Range on Bondoola Road, a quick pull-off from the highway between Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast. The cafe has said on its own social pages that dogs are welcome, and the all-outdoor tables make it an easy leg-stretch stop on the drive to Yeppoon or Emu Park.

Keep the lead on and close: this is a working golf facility with balls in the air, so the safest spot is tucked in at your table rather than roaming. There is open grass around the complex for a sniff before or after the order.

The draw is barista coffee and a short burger-focused menu, with the novelty of hitting a bucket of balls before or after your order. It is best treated as a highway pit stop rather than a destination. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6am to 2pm, Saturday 7am to midday, and closed Wednesday and Sunday, so the early start matters on weekdays.

Getting there and parking

Look for the driving range signs off the highway and turn into Bondoola Road; parking is free and on site, so there is no street-parking wrangling with a dog in the car.
