Garden of Eden Cafe - Drive THRU Austral

Garden of Eden Cafe is a drive-thru and sit-down cafe on Fifteenth Avenue in Austral, one of Sydney's fastest-growing fringe suburbs, and its heated outdoor courtyard is what puts it on the dog map. Leashed dogs are welcome out there, with water bowls left out for visiting pups.

Google's business listing also flags dogs as allowed indoors, but that is not corroborated anywhere else, so treat the courtyard as the reliable option and confirm indoor seating with staff if the weather turns. Ask for a water bowl when you order if the station has run dry.

Worth knowing

The kitchen covers all-day breakfast and lunch, with Campos coffee, smashed avo, bacon-and-egg rolls, a steak sandwich and a chicken burger doing the steady trade, plus açai bowls at the sweet end. The drive-thru is the fast lane for commuters, and it opens very early, 5am on weekdays and 6am on weekends, closing mid afternoon. Weekend mornings are the busiest stretch in the courtyard.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at Shop 3, 394-400 Fifteenth Avenue, with a free onsite car park and street parking nearby. The drive-thru lane is handy if you would rather not unload the dog at all, which on a wet day is a legitimate strategy.

Close by with the dogs

Emerald Hills Dog Park at neighbouring Leppington is the closest proper off-lead run, and CRUMB Sydney is the nearby alternative for a sit-down meal with the dog.
