Kilns Cafe

Kilns Cafe is a small neighbourhood coffee spot in the Ascot Waters village, a short stroll from the Swan River, and it treats dogs as regulars rather than a grudging exception. The alfresco area out front is set up for dogs on leads, with water bowls and lead attachments on the fence so you can tether safely while you order.

Ask if none is visible, and carry a spare bowl in case they are all claimed. Expect the usual food-safety line: the alfresco area is the dog zone.

It is a quiet, light-filled local doing reliable cafe coffee, focaccia and a well-liked house omelette, with breakfast and lunch plates and a spread of vegetarian options. Getting there and parking

Kilns sits at 2 Waterway Crescent in the Ascot Waters village, with street parking on the surrounding residential streets. Rather than a standalone destination, it works best as a stop stitched into a riverside walk: the Swan River pathways run right past, and Ascot Waters Park is close by for a leg-stretch.

For a proper run before coffee, the Ascot Park Fenced Dog Park is the secure option nearby, with the Belmont Dog Park a little further on.
