Harvey's Social

Harvey's Social sits in Bungarribee Park in Western Sydney Parklands, a few steps from the Warrigal Dog Run and Bungarribee Playground. The parklands trust describes it as a family- and pet-friendly spot for coffee, smoothies, burgers, wraps and salads, and that location is the whole pitch: the dog run is right there.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, park-style seating, which is the main dining space. Keep your dog on a lead at the tables since the playground and shared paths run close by. Water bowls are usually out, and the kitchen has a reputation for handing out dog treats and puppuccinos, but bring your own bowl if you want to be sure.

Worth knowing

Breakfast and lunch run Tuesday to Sunday and on most public holidays, with the kitchen closed on Mondays. The menu is all-day cafe territory: bacon and egg rolls, burgers and smoothies, on 88 Degrees beans. Weekends are busy with playground families as well as dog walkers, so the calm window is a weekday morning after the school drop-off rush.

Getting there and parking

Enter Bungarribee Park from Doonside Road, Doonside, where the main car parks serve the playground, dog run and cafe in one stop. It is a drive-to venue on the Blacktown side of the parklands, though you can also arrive on foot through the park from surrounding suburbs.

Close by with the dogs

Warrigal Dog Run is next door and is the natural pairing, and the Bungarribee Park Fenced Dog Park listing covers the same precinct from the Doonside side. Coffee backup sits at Frankly Bagels down the road at Prospect.
