Warnbo Dog Beach parking

This listing covers the southern parking and access point for Warnbro Dog Beach in Port Kennedy, reached off Bayeux Avenue near Bight Reefs Road. It is the most direct way onto the off-leash sand at this end of Warnbro Sound.

The rules. The off-leash zone starts at the signposted area just south of Bayeux Avenue. Dogs must be under voice control and you must carry a leash. Keep at least 10 metres clear of any playground or barbecue area, pick up after your dog, and stay within the marked boundaries at each end of the zone.

Getting there and parking. From the Kwinana Freeway, exit onto Safety Bay Road toward Port Kennedy, then Ocean Road and into Bayeux Avenue. Parking is free, casual street parking along Bayeux Avenue and nearby residential streets. The end of the avenue has the most direct access but fills on summer weekends and public holidays, so arrive early or park a street back. A concrete ramp near the end of Bayeux Avenue gives stroller and wheelchair access, and a paved coastal path runs behind the dunes.

What's there. Waste bins sit at the main access points, though carrying your own bags is wise. There is no shade or drinking water at the beach, so bring water in warmer months.

When to go. Mornings before 10am are best, ahead of the strong afternoon sea breeze. Weekdays are quiet. At high tide the usable beach narrows, so a lower tide gives more running room.
