Fermoy Estate

The lead. Fermoy Estate is a relaxed, intimate cellar door on Metricup Road in Wilyabrup, known for award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon and cool-climate Chardonnay. Dogs are welcome on the grounds and shady lawns, so you can buy a glass and a grazing plate and settle in outdoors.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor grounds, lawn areas and potentially the veranda. The spacious lawn is the main spot for visitors with dogs; the intimate tasting room is best treated as people-only unless staff say otherwise. Bring your own water bowl and treats to be sure your dog is comfortable. Keep your dog on a lead in the public areas.

Good to know. The Cabernet Sauvignon has taken Decanter International trophies, and the Chardonnay is well regarded. Tastings are personal, seated or at the bar, up to about five wines, and you can buy wine by the glass with local grazing items to enjoy on the lawn. Walk-ins are accepted; bookings welcomed.

Getting there and parking. Find it at 835 Metricup Road, Wilyabrup, roughly 25 to 30 minutes from Margaret River town or south of Busselton. Ample free on-site parking sits beside the cellar door.

Nearby with the dogs. Other dog-friendly Wilyabrup cellar doors are close by. Regional dog-friendly beaches such as Gnarabup and Prevelly are a drive away; check local signage.

When to go. Sunny days suit the lawn; any season works for a cosy tasting indoors. Good for relaxed dogs happy to settle on grass.
