Domaine Naturaliste

Domaine Naturaliste is winemaker Bruce Dukes' cellar door in Wilyabrup, set between the vines with a modern tasting room and a relaxed outdoor courtyard. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the courtyard and footpath area overlooking the vineyard, though the tasting itself happens indoors, so plan your visit around that.

The dog setup

Dogs stay on lead in the outdoor courtyard and surrounding footpath spaces. Tasting and service areas inside the building do not take pets, so bring a second person or take turns: one tastes while the other holds the courtyard table. Dedicated water bowls are not guaranteed, so pack your own water and a portable bowl. It works best for a settled dog that is happy to lounge outdoors while the tasting happens.

The vibe

A calm, vine-side room with serious wines. Dukes has collected accolades including WA Winemaker of the Year, and the range leans on Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Signature seated wine flights run daily, and made to order cheese and charcuterie boards are served from the kitchen between 11am and 3pm. Book ahead if you want to dine or grab a courtyard table on a weekend.

Getting there and parking

The cellar door is at 160 Johnson Road, Wilyabrup, off Caves Road in the Wilyabrup sub-region, about 15 minutes from Margaret River town and Dunsborough. Parking is a simple gravel lot right at the door; aim for a spot near the outdoor seating if you have the dog. Open daily 10am to 5pm, with occasional closure days over Christmas and Boxing Day.
