Sobels Winery

Sobels Winery sits on the corner of Broke and Halls Roads, easy to find in the heart of Pokolbin, with a distinctive circular cellar door wrapped by a broad, shaded verandah. The rules. Keep your dog on a lead at all times. One real watch-out: the venue sits on a corner of two roads, so a lead is non-negotiable and a dog with a habit of bolting needs minding near the boundary. Water bowls are provided.

What is there. The circular cellar door is the talking point, paired with a wide range across still, sparkling and fortified wines. It is rustic and unfussy, an easy place to pull in mid-loop.

Getting there. Corner of Broke Road and Halls Road, centrally located with on-site parking and very easy to find.

When to go. The shaded verandah is a good call on a hot Hunter afternoon. Its central corner spot makes it a natural mid-loop stop, calmest earlier in the day or mid-week.
