Honeytree Estate

Honeytree Estate is the boutique Pokolbin cellar door of Mount Eyre Vineyards, a family operation that has been making estate-grown Hunter wines for more than two decades. It is pet-friendly with a clear rule set: dogs are welcome in the designated outdoor areas, and the intimate scale means an outdoor tasting here still feels personal rather than exile to the car park.

The dog setup

Pets join you in the outdoor areas, on a leash, well supervised and non-disruptive to other guests. The venue's own FAQ keeps the indoor tasting room for humans, so plan for outside seating in every season. Book ahead and mention the dog, which secures a comfortable outdoor spot, and bring your own water bowl as a habit rather than an afterthought. If the weather is genuinely hostile, this is the day to pick one of the Pokolbin doors with indoor dog access instead and save Honeytree for fine weather.

The vibe

Tastings are relaxed and intimate, running across a broad line-up that includes semillon, chardonnay, verdelho, shiraz, sangiovese and merlot, with fiano and nero d'avola among the talking points and local olives on the table. The door opens Friday to Monday from 10am to 5pm, with Tuesday to Thursday tastings available by appointment.

Getting there and parking

The cellar door sits in central Pokolbin, a short hop from the main accommodation strip, with on-site parking a short walk from the door.

Make a day of it

Gillards Road runs past several dog-friendly neighbours: Blueberry Hill Vineyard at the corner takes dogs inside as well as out, and Mercer Wines and Horner Wines are both minutes away for a compact, dog-friendly loop.
